ELGIN GIVES is a collaborative effort of community leaders in the greater Elgin area to bring the power of philanthropy’s biggest day, #GivingTuesday, home to Elgin.
Our team members aim to excite, educate, and encourage Elgin area residents and businesses to make an investment in Elgin by supporting the many organizations whose work enhances the well-being of our residents and the quality of life of our entire community.
About #Giving Tuesday
Started in 2012 by New York’s 92nd Street Y in Partnership with the United Nations Foundation, #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
#GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
